From food challenges to bizarre trends – there is no dearth of creativity that creators will apply to try to garner views and social media traction. But one American YouTuber has taken entertainment to the next level by starting his own restaurant and serving people for free. That’s not all – he is actually distributing cash and other giveaways to the customers at his restaurant.

American YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, who is also known as ‘Mr. Beast’ on YouTube, is famous for creating viral videos involving expensive stunts and larger-than-life, grand gestures. One of his popular formats is the ‘Last To Leave’ videos in which the last person to finish a task wins a cash prize. Mr. Beast was one of the most viewed content creators on YouTube in the year 2019, with each of his videos garnering over 10 million views. He was also touted as YouTube’s biggest philanthropist in the year 2018.

In his latest video of the new venture’s launch day, Mr. Beast explains that he has opened the world’s first free restaurant while also paying people to eat at it. A long queue of cars could be seen in the video, with people turning up in vast numbers to try and test the claim for themselves. Mr. Beast was adding wads of cash to the bags of burgers, also handing out bundles of money to those who were being made to wait at the drive-thru.

The video of his new burger restaurant went live on 20th December 2020 and soon found itself in the top 30 trending videos in India on YouTube. It has already clocked in over 23 million views and counting. “They got more customers in a day than how many McDonald’s had in a year,” wrote one user in the comments section. Another said, “The most effective way to promote his new restaurant, he’s a genius.”
